How we handle your data

This page explains what happens to the information you give us on this site. It is written plainly, because a privacy notice nobody reads protects nobody.
Who is responsible
Codenotch SA, Rue de la Gare 4, 2034 Peseux, Switzerland. Questions, access requests and deletion requests go to hello@codenotch.com, and we answer within 30 days.
What we collect, and why

We ask for what we need to reply, nothing more. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and in understanding how the site is used, under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.
Who else sees it
- Microsoft Azure hosts the site and the small function that receives the forms, in Western Europe.
- Cloudflare runs the anti-spam check on the two forms and sees your IP address for that purpose.
- Discord receives each submission in our private team channel, so the whole team sees a new enquiry at once. Discord Inc. is based in the United States.
- Google Analytics measures site usage, with shortened IP addresses and advertising features switched off.
We sell nothing to anyone, and we send you marketing only if you ask for it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and briefs stay in our team channel while the conversation is live, and we clear them within twelve months of the last exchange. Audience measurement data is kept for fourteen months. Ask us to delete your data earlier and we will.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Write to hello@codenotch.com. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. Google Analytics sets its own to recognise a returning visit, and Cloudflare may set one while it checks a form submission. Your browser settings let you refuse them, and the site works either way.
